Here's a vinyl DJ mix I did at the weekend. Most of the tunes are from last year, but they're tracks I've been after for a while and bought the other day after browsing juno.co.uk. It's quite heavy on the Gabriel and Dresden stuff (they've been pretty inspirational to me recently, and a lot to do with my renewed enthusiasm for making music), and the last two tracks are a bit random, but there it is.

Right click HERE and "save as" for the mix

Right click HERE and "save as" for a .cue file

Tracklist:
Three Drives - Carrera 2 (Gabriel & Dresden Turbo Mix)
Schulz/Departure/G&D - Without You Near (Gabriel & Dresden Mix)
Jose Amnesia vs. Serp - Second Day
Armin can Buuren / Gabriel & Dresden - Zocalo
Coldplay - Talk (Junkie XL Mix)
Royksopp - What Else Is There? (Thin White Duke Remix)
White Room - White Room

The cue file lets you burn it to CD with track markers and CD Text song names. Ask me how if you're interested.

Another really good mix - I hadn't heard any of the tracks before, but they're all great (especially 'Without You Near' and 'White Room')

Nice one!

Brilliant! I have to just mention that the Royskopp track, especially the White Duke version, has been a favourite of mine for a few months. Great to hear it thrown in a mix smile.gif

Thanks chaps. Nice to hear it went down well. As for new compositions, I'm picking up this new mixer tomorrow smile.gif so no more excuses from now on!

I got the UB1832FX-Pro instead. Like it a lot, but can generate a lot of noise if you're not careful. Also the internal soldering in Behringer UB series mixers is rather weak so don't be too rough with them otherwise you'll end up with dead/crackling connections.

Great, I've got my own Behringer mixer support group here too! I'll let you know how I get on with it, and I'm sure I'll have a few questions for you.

Great mix Tony and great track selection :-)

By the way, if ya wanna hear some of my stuff that's been released, goto:

www.darrenflinders.com/music

Ya might wanna throw the odd one or 2 of those tracks in a mix (and yes, there's a gabriel and dresden remix I did in there too, hope ya like).

Daz :-)

Hi guys,

Things move a bit slow around here so I don't tend to check in very often. Anyway...

Darren, downloading some of your stuff now. Will have a listen and feedback.

Randy, to use the .cue file to burn a CD, the best way is to use Nero. Put the mp3 and the .cue file in the same folder. Make sure they both have the same filename apart from the .mp3/.cue extension.

Start Nero using the "Nero Burning Rom" program (as opposed to the various "wizard" type frontends it has). Select New, or whatever you need to do to get to the main window with the menus. From here, select Burn Image from the Recorder menu.

This should let you select the .cue file, and then it should automatically find the .mp3, have a think about it for a while, and then give you the normal options to burn the disc. The CD should then end up with gapless playback of the mix, with track markers and disc and track names for CD players that support CD Text. Players that don't will ignore this info and the CD will work fine.

Have a rummage around the Mixes link below if you want some more, or take a look here www.tonyglobe.com, where you'll find some ramshackle HTML, tracklistings and links.

It's a bit of a mess at the moment. :-)
