Will the new Med Soundstudio come with versions of: medplayer.library, octamixplayer.library, etc. that will (hopefully) be distributable under the same terms as their classic hardware-banging counterparts?

Hi,
was the old library release freeware, or was commercial usage separated? This is a detail to be discussed with RBF and Gerd.
Library (note that there is only mixing routine left now!) will be compatible with the old API. Hopefully some old programs would work with the new library then.
At least MED player will be freeware and non-commercial usage of the new library(ies) should also be.

IIRC For commercial usage the programmer would have to contact Ray and negotiate distribution details. It was free for non-profit usage, however.

From my side it will be compatible to the old one! But this still has to be investigated a little bit... ;-)
Regarding the licence I would say its free for non profit use and available at very low prices for commercial use.

Gerd is correct, I have not decided on a fee for commercial use yet, but it certainly won't be very much.

Thanks Ray. The reason I was wondering is that Mattathias Basic is aiming to be backward compatible to Amos Basic source code and Amos supported Medplayer through the MedPlayer.library file. I will see to it that MED playback is maintained in the AOS 4 version of Mattathias.
