I'm not gonna count em! But if any of you were members of the original Med User Group. and you sent in a mod for review, then it's quite possible I have it. I play them on my PC with Deliplayer.

I suspect a lot have visited the links you gave,
thinking the files were there somewhere.

If you are saying members should email you,
you forgot to point that one out wink.gif

Hi Sperret - I tried contacting you through your website; did you get the e-mail? I was involved with MUG and was wondering if you have any of my mods (Steve Gane, 'Music First')

sperrett- 03-02-2005

Hey Steven, I have over 40 mods of yours. From 'AmoebaDrag' to 'Why' If you want them I can send them to you!

Sorry about the website contact form, it doesn't work... sad.gif It's still a work in progress...

Hi Sperrett - Wow! That's more than me at the moment (they're all in boxes in my garage)

I'd really appreciate it if you'd send them over to me, cheers!

Hey Steve!
I've sent you a PM with a link to your mods. I tried to send you an email but this board wouldn't let me...?

what a long sorted tale this has been smile.gif

some thoughts.. moving from 1.7 to MED 2.. (which I didnt know where to post on the forum)

I started using MED on the Amiga (along with other trackers, like SoundTracker, etc.) after doing similar chip music on the C64.. yeh I go WAYYYY back like Ray wink.gif

I liked the eye candy of MED , changing the colour palette , the jumping man metronome thing , waveform and peak bars, but more than anything the synth instruments, the quality of samples you could use with MED was much higher than the other trackers, and with the start of OctaMED you could use many more tracks.. I remember the tiny greenish interface of early OctaMED before the newer grayish layouts were used .. the program has come a long way, but even in the move from Amiga to PC has retained much of its original feel and production features (the ability to use keystrokes instead of mouse clicks for common tasks, meaning you can produce your tracks much quicker, this is important when doing professional music, which I have used MED and OCTAMED for *alot!* during my TV production and video game music days. I've actually used MED during live production by queing up samples and assigning them to numpad keys, the audio guy would hit the respective button on que which had big advantages over tape or CD queing at the time.. this was a very unorthadox use for MED, but it worked great LOL!

Today, I'm glad development continues by dedicated users, and hope V2 is a resounding success to keep the dream alive. I've used lots of different programs over the past few years, but MED is still easiest to put together a tune using step, midi, or "live" and am happy MED is focusing more on the MIDI end of things.. though, I also hope MED won't ignore the loop-based editing stuff and continue on that front as well. i have probably 2-3 albums worth of MED songs that never made it to print.. my plan is, convert these to MED MIDI, then to MIDI, and from there do final post-processing via Audacity, SoundForge, or the Mac in GarageBand/etc.. the reason I don't do all the processing in MED is because of the types of track filters/effects I use are something I can't figure out how to use with MED (directx and vst type plugins) -- i know it is possible through 3rd-party rewire applications, but I am not that savvy to this respect... I am sure V2 will address this type of "all-in-one music studio app" issues..

Yes, we let ourselves get well and truly screwed with those Amiga mag coverdisk editions, but that was before we knew better. sad.gif

Vidal:

Yes Ray, but that disc may be the fuel for Med to come. It started aff a lot of people in making music, and I guees most people here will promote MED 2 if it turns out nicely.

The OctaMed was, as MED still is, extremly userfriendly, its almost intuitively to get the grips of it, while Cubase et el is a core to get started with.

I hope you'll maintain the userfriendliness in V2

Regards

Vidal
