Hi all,

I'm one of the latest newcomers to MED for the PC, and oh what a joy it was to stumble back across familiar territory; yes, I recall fond memories of using OctaMED on my beloved Amiga all those years ago <sob> - my eyes (and of course, ears) held transfixed as I tinkered away into the wee hours attempting to fudge together a jumble of assorted 8bit samples in the hopes of achieving some recognisable form of music. smile.gif

Shoot right to the present and hey, wow, I can again relive those glory days, delve deep into my subconscious mind and scoop out those rekindled desires that lay unknowingly dormant for so long; only MED has made this possible.

After absorbing all MED has to offer I've compiled a short list of questions, suggestions and the odd bug found.

Questions:
------------
1) Is it possible to enter notes with 'Spacing On' but without a 'hold' symbol filling in the gaps?

2) Is it possible to double-click the mouse to move the cursor to the desired position within the song editor? (ie. without having to use the arrow keys).

Suggestions:
---------------
3) It would be nice to be able to use the mouse wheel to scroll up and down the current block in the editor. Also, to be able to double-click a position on the song editor to move the cursor instantly there.

4) The keyboard shortcuts for dialogs (eg. Alt 1, Alt 2, etc.) should be a toggle system so that the dialogs show/hide with each keypress.

Bugs:
-------
5) In the 'Generate Volume Echo...' dialog (Tools menu), the balloon help for 'Minimum Volume' erroneously states: "Click Choose to edit the colour." at the end of the text.

6) The 'Organise Instruments' menu item (in the Tools menu) does not exist (for organising instruments into consecutive positions). The absence of this well-needed feature has resulted in clumps of hair missing from my head! sad.gif

7) Sometimes after quitting an error occurs: "Error: Access violation at 0x00000000 (tried to read from 0x00000000), program terminated."

8) The balloon help for the 'Insert Command into Song' dialog shows "Please report this error to the Help author..."

9) When using Programmable Keys, pressing Shift F1 also opens the Help file.

10) Saving a previously loaded module doesn't always save to the module's existing file location and thus creates a new file elsewhere! This is a big concern!

11) The 'Sample Editor' and 'Instrument List' don't always update to reflect the current instrument (eg. when changing instruments with the plus or minus keys).

Phew! Yes, it is quite an exhausting run-down, but all for the purpose of making MED v1.7a the best it can possibly be. smile.gif
Long live MED!

Regards,
