Going through some old tapes of mine I find the mangled remains of an archive of songs when I first started out back in the days of the old gritty 8-bit amiga tracker music.

Listening to the tracks now I was on the floor laughing at how crap it really was, and for your laughing pleasure I decided to share the best and worst of it. You beginners nowadays should consider yourself lucky you have quality tools compared to what we had a decade ago!

Highway Hell - This was one of the weirder ones on the tape.

Go Crazy - Here's proof that I was stupid enough to pick up a mic and shout something moronic. First attempt at using MIDI with a Korg X3.

No Peace - Would you class this as Gabba Hardcore? Shoot...I don't remember it being this fast!

Oh No (Lemming Rave) - Gratuitous samples from Psygnosis' classic Lemmings. Total rubbish but funny nonetheless.

Well there you go. You can either laugh at it or hate it - but try and enjoy it.

I actually like the Lemmings one, in a funny sort of way! But we've all been there, done that, and thought "What the ****!" when we hear it later. I used to create songs from samples; I've created a Nightmare On Elm Street, Red Dwarf, Star Trek, The Terminator and Robocop remixes, these are also on tape but long lost

Addendum: I created a song out of sampling some people once. I used to be in a youth training thing for starting your own business and there were 5 of us, one elderly genleman was flambouyant and used to greet people in different languages, one was a lady, very prim and proper, there was me and my mate; rough as old boots and a very shy lad who hardly spoke. One day, I sneaked a tape recorder in and left it recording without the knowledge of the others. I got some very enjoyable samples I can tell you, especially, the multilingual person!

That was definately the most unusal mod I ever created
